Persecuted and Forgotten? A report on Christians oppressed for their Faith 2013-2015

ACN’s Persecuted and Forgotten? 2013-2015 report assesses the deepening plight of Christians in 22 countries of concern. Drawing on testimony from witnesses of persecution, the report shows why Christians are the world’s most persecuted faith group.

Persecuted and Forgotten? had it's Scottish Launch at St Mary's Cathedral, Aberdeen last week. (Blog with details to follow!!!)

The past two years have been 'catastrophic' for many Christians in the Middle East and parts of Africa, says a new report which was launched in Aberdeen last week.
The report can be found here: www.acnuk.org/persecuted

The report was welcomed and endorsed by the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon

(c) Scottish Government

First Minister of Scotland

Message for P&F launch in Scotland:

“The Scottish Government strongly condemns persecution or oppression of any kind and we are concerned by the horrifying persecution of Christians and others that continues across the world.

This report by Aid to the Church in Need provides welcome evidence-based analysis of the sustained persecution of Christian minorities. Only by publishing reports such as this and identifying the extent and scale of the problem can we hope to take steps to address the persecution of minorities that sadly still exists across the world.

I am committed to creating a modern, inclusive Scotland which protects and respects human rights. This includes upholding freedom of thought, conscience and religion and we support our faith communities and promote interfaith initiatives because we recognise the invaluable contribution they make to building a safe and peaceful society. We will continue to promote freedom of religion in all our relationships with other nations and work with others to end persecution and oppression against all people.”
