A record-breaking year for aid

Internationally the total aid paid out by Aid to the Church in Need reached £73 million for the first time in 2014.

A huge thank you to all the generous individuals, schools and parishes in Scotland that helped contribute to this momentous figure.  

Middle East 

The Middle East is the region to which ACN has paid out the most aid in 2014; to Syria £1.4 million and £3.3 million to Iraq – providing for projects such as food, shelter and medicine for communities fleeing bombardment and oppression.

Scotland 2015 

The Church internationally is certainly in need, with the oppression and persecution of Christians ever worsening.   

Perhaps it is hard for us to imagine what it must be like to flee your home when terrorists and fanatics threaten to kill you because of your Christian faith, yet the witness of the persecuted Church that trust in God’s love is a challenge and inspiration to us all.

ACN Scotland wants to work with the youth, parishes, the media and Parliament to champion the persecuted Church. 

Here are some ideas of ways in which you can support the Church in Need: 

• Pray for the persecuted Church 
• Follow us on social media
• Write to your MSP and MP about the issues faced by persecuted Christians
• Sign up for our newsletters
• Fundraise for ACN
• Attend ACN events
• Invite ACN in to run workshops and retreats in your parish or school
