ACN Scotland visit....St Aidan's High School

Hello All,

Following on from my last blog entry about Solidarity Schools I thought I would let you know about ACN Scotland's first school visit of 2015.

I had the pleasure of visiting, with Lorraine, St Aidan's High School (Wishaw) on Friday the 16th of January.

We had the opportunity to speak with around 50 senior pupils and deliver our new 2015 presentation.

ACN's newly-created multi-media presentation helps students to:
  • Become aware of Aid to the Church in Need and its mission to the Church
  • Understand that Christian persecution is one of the most serious human rights issues today
  • Reflect on what it means to be part of the Universal Church
  • Pray for others and thus deepen their own faith
  • Consider what action they can take individually and collectively to stand in solidarity with their persecuted brothers and sisters.
Students on the day were most interested to hear about case studies of individuals who were of similar age, experiencing persecution. The students were also shocked to learn about the true extent of Christian persecution and how under-reported it is in the media.

Education is one of the cornerstones of ACN's work in Scotland, and a visit from ACN can be one way to inspire your school to learn more about and take action in support of the persecuted Church.
