The most important thing for the persecuted Church is
that people are aware of their suffering and get active
Please have a look at our suggestions – but you
can of course use your own brilliant ideas and creativity to make more people
aware of the suffering Church.
If you have any other ideas, let me know.
So here we go:
#1 Become active
on social media – Our Facebook page and Twitter is regularly updated
with all the latest news, articles and pictures. Please visit and Like/Follow us
to stay up to date – then share the news on your own page. Make sure you
use the power of social networking to raise awareness to your friends.
#2 Contact your
MSP – Find out who your local MSP is, go to meet them at their
office with some friends and find out what they know about the persecuted
Church. Share your views with them and encourage them to be a pro-religious freedom
MSP! They are there to represent you, so tell them how you want them to do
this. For more info on how to go about this, contact me.
#3 Start or join a
group at your school or university - Schools
and universities are a great place to spread the word and it is vital that
young people hear this message. For help setting up or building an existing
group, please contact me.
#4 Hold an ACN
event at your church – Speak to
your parish priest about organising a talk at your local parish & invite everyone
who attends Mass there and those from neighbouring parishes to help or
participate. At this event, ask the Parish Priest if he would allow for one of
our excellent speakers to come and give a talk.
If you would like help arranging this, please email me.
#5 Hold a
fundraising event to support Aid to the Church in Need –
Cake sales, coffee mornings and car boot sales are great ways to raise some
money for one of the 5,500 projects we support each year. I would be happy to discuss your fundraising ideas.
#6 Keep in
touch – Twitter (@ACN_Scotland),
Facebook (ACN Scotland) or Phone me (01698 337 472)
If one person in every parish in Scotland was to take up one of these ideas, this would have a hugely positive impact on the work of ACN in Scotland.
Never underestimate the power you have to make a real
difference,.
